off to kuala terengganu for a one day stop over. flying over fluffy clouds and blue skies...

4 day trip to kuala terengganu and redang island. (pt. 1)

another trip, full of pure unadulterated fun! this time to redang island to join a bunch of 'yahoo' characters...friends and divers, for Project Aware's, "redang island clean up day 2005", organised by berjaya redang beach resort terengganu. (visit www.projectaware.org).

this is where caring, environmental conscious divers from all over come together to what they can to conserve and preserve underwater environments. in this case, participating divers who braved and risked being stung, pierced and poked, removed a bunch of 'crown of thorns' (a destructive starfish that feeds on living coral polyps, causing erosion of coral reefs....bad! bad!), and a whole lot of of rubbish which included (believe this or not!) plastic bottles, shoes, slippers, a 10 meter long rope (perfect for tangling up and drowning turtles and sharks) amongst other things!

pummkin, iolanda @ penyulanda, jack jack, ronald @ rono mcdonno, pek ling, robert, wei seng @ special, stanley @ stanny, peter and all the other participating divers i had the pleasure of meeting on this trip .... Great Job and thanks for making this a memorable and educational trip for me.

chilling-out at Chilling Falls (Pt. 1)

a fun filled photo-taking adventure with friends and fellow bloggers pummkin, divemuster , ladyhawk, shaun and may yen. a 2 hour trek through rivers and jungle filled with amazing flora and fauna which eventually led to this....the Chilling waterfalls. unique as it is beautiful...the hollow cave like opening behind it seems to magnify the sounds of the waterfall. clear and extremely cold flowing waters, filled with life...from schools of fish to a river snake!

river snake!

spotted by divemuster. this shot was taken with a telephoto from a high ledge where i was shooting the falls. wanted to wade in for a better shot, but it swam away by then!

a young monkey's cup. (nepenthes)

a pretty blue fern...

bug on fern...

red spider.

the body of this spider was under 1cm long, but had really long filament like legs. it was the striking red body that caught my attention.

damselfly. have not seen so many varieties of damselflies and dragonflies in one place. they love hanging out by the river. check out divemuster's blog for some really awesome closups.
