ayam emas. (cibotium barometz)

My 'weirder' plants.
The orang asli believe that if you were to tear off a tuft of hair from this fern and rub it into a cut or wound, it would heal faster and leave no scar behind.

This one is weird alright .. does it really grow? Is it a plant by itself or part of one?

OMG! What if your venus accidently has your Moggie for dinner? : (

Really?Erm...may be a revolutionary for maternity hospitals and "puey yees" / confinement ladies thier in treating ceasareans and after natural births.

And if these "wonder healing" tuft of hair sells really hot, bet the prices would be sky high akin to bird nests and the likes of them. Just like baby necessacities. *Ching*Ching* for baby product industries!!!

I had one which I kept for over a year. When I shifted, I gave it away, not knowing what use it had for wounds & cuts. You know what? I patted it too.... :)

Pretty, pretty ayamas...

Ooooooh! it looks like a baby hamster all curled up!
I love plants with medicinal uses but had never heard of this one!

I'm favouring tea tree over aloe at the moment...but I'm wondering where I can get some of this from :)

Hugs as always

Looks like a hairball of an orangutan. I like your blog, educational plant-wise. Many plants n flowers are new to me and quite a few I haven't seen before.
