not sure what kind of snake this is yet, but it sure is handsome. (thanks Mr.K)........ no Pummkin, this time he wasn't bitten!

basic "cornsnake" also called a "red ratsnake" found everywhere in the continental United States..no venom like a garter snake however, will bite if aggravated.

Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Not my cup of tea. Thank goodness there are NO snakes in New Zealand !! Might be a dissapointment for some !!

tks for d info, blahggraider. have taken care of a cornsnake for a buddy before, but the markings seem to be different from d one in d pic. then again this one is a juvenile......will keep checking.
see, that's why i can't move to nz, irene...no snakes! u don't know what u r missing, haha!

big "g", how could u?! i remember how u loved mr jones and buzz, my green iguanas...... reptiles rock! btw, remove all the snakes in the wild and there would be a devastating imbalance in our ecosystem!
